Second Place!

Benfield Gallery, Severna Park, MD

June is gallery show month!

At long last, and in one month, I've been juried into TWO shows.

Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association has chosen Fairchild Oak and Anastasia Island Birdwatcher to show at the Artist's Emporium in Havre de Grace, Maryland From June 1 - 22 2019.

And, The Benfield Gallery in Severna Park, Maryland has selected Bing's Landing and The Real McCoy for their David Lawton Influence Show. I've been taking painting classes from David for nearly two years. I'm joining 25 other students to show how David's influence has shaped our work. The show runs from June 8 - July 20, 2019.

St. Augustine weather has been spectacular for February and March - plenty of opportunity for plein air painting. I've joined the Anastasia plein air group that meets weekly. It gives me an opportunity to visit beautiful spots that I wouldn't have seen otherwise.

Collector's Choice 2018

Another fun evening at Collector's Choice,  on October 28. Meadow's Edge, my pastel and Sumi ink painting found a home with collector Julie Western.

Collector's Choice 2021

A big THANK YOU to my newest supporters at the Collectors Choice event on October 24, 2021

"May's Peonies" was painted after a sudden spring shower came through and flattened my favorite flowers. I rescued them, and put into an incredible vase my daughter found for me a few years back. Collector's Choice is a benefit supporting the MFA. Thank you for supporting the arts!

THANK YOU for supporting the arts!

Another wonderful evening at the Collector's Choice event on October 22, 2017. I got the chance to meet the couple who selected Naptown Tie-up -- they love Annapolis as I do.

"Naptown Tie-up" was painted in August with the warm glow of the summer sky shimmering over Annapolis. Soft pastels provide the wide range of color and value which make this image vibrant. Annapolis is home -- and I love it.

A big THANK YOU to my newest supporters at the Collectors Choice event on October 23, 2016

"Morning Canopy" was painted during a Paint Out day with Maryland Federation of the Arts as part of the larger Paint Annapolis competition held at Londontown Historic Gardens on June 1, 2016. Collector's Choice is a benefit supporting the MFA. Thank you for supporting the arts!

Art in the windows -- Stevens Hardware

November -- December 2014

Annapolis, MD --There’s a chill in the air, and the days are getting shorter. The stores are festooned with evergreen garland and twinkling lights. Best of all, parking in downtown Annapolis is free at the meters.

Bring your family downtown for Midnight Madness and the Parade of Lights. While you’re here, visit the windows at the former Stevens hardware store and see what I’ve been working on for the past year. On display are thirteen pastel paintings of local and distant places. You may even recognize a few of them!

Thanks to the generosity of the Stevens family, and support of the Maryland Federation of Art, I’m sharing this space with two other talented artists, Wil Scott and Peter Emerson. We’d love to have you visit. We are located at city dock, surrounded by boats, restaurants, shops, and of course, water.

This year, the Maryland Federation of Art is hosting an online gallery and store of our work. If you can't make it downtown, view the gallery from the comfort of your living room, and consider an online purchase.
